The ProThermax hand piece uses Metal Electrodes and Sapphire Crystal that delivers Cooling, Radio Frequency waves and Infra Red Light at a time. THE SCIENCE BEHIND MAGIC
ProThermax uses a safe Infrared Light and Bipolar Radio Frequency to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. During the procedure, the skin's surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with ProThermax hand piece.
The Infrared Wavelength
The broadband spectrum of 700nm to 2000nm was selected and tailored for ideal water
absorption and allows uniform and even heating of the dermis to produce Concentrated heating. Concentrated heating, 1-2mm deep, is necessary to produce the desired clinical result and requires sustained temperature increase in the dermis.
The Radio Frequency
The system uses advanced bipolar RF Generator to renew the skin. When collagen fibers
are heated, some of the cross-links are broken, causing the triple helix structure to unwind.
Beyond a certain level, depending on a combination of both the maximal temperature and the exposure time, collagen fibers undergo denaturation. When the cross-links are
maintained, at least partially, collagen shrinkage and thickening is achieved.
